Anyways, yesterday my sister and I finally booked our trip to Japan this summer!!

Ever since my family and I went to Tokyo three years ago I wanted to go back, and every year there was a reason why I couldn’t. (too young to go alone, the earthquake, no one to come with me and my sister’s return from California)

But this year my sister and I finally both have time during summer break to go away for two weeks!

You guys won’t believe how excited I am (okay right now I’m really tired because I studied for a Psychology exam all day)

Our flight goes from Munich via Amsterdam to Tokyo on the 7th of August. We’ll arrive in Tokyo next morning at 9 am (I know, this sucks) and stay there until the 14th. Next stop: Kyoto for 3 days! And the last three days are dedicated to the city I want to see most: Osaka! On the 20th we’ll fly back from Osaka via Amsterdam to Munich.

I was so happy to have a cheap flight that goes back home from Osaka because I absolutely did not want to go all the way back to Narita! Plus I’ve never been to KIX before so I’m really excited muhaha.

We also found some nice and cheap hotels (breakfast not included though) so I can spend all my money this summer! Back home I’ll be totally broke…

There are many things I wanna revisit (Meiji Jingu of course and Odaiba, 109 and that restaurant in Asakusa where we just ordered something without being able to read the kanji) and lots of things I haven’t been to! Like most of the parts in Shinjuku, Tokyo Sky Tree of course and lots of parks! And since we have more time this year we’ll be able to just wander around the city!

Kyoto and Osaka are even more exciting, because both of us haven’t been there yet!

I can’t wait to go exploring!

And I want to eat. A LOT.
I think I’ve never really eaten something that was a specialty from there…?

And ‘some’ shopping. Of course. I’ll probably skip clothing and will return with dozens of handbags and jewelry from paris kids…

haha that’s actually really sad. I still remember when my friend Chii showed us that super-cheap store RANDA at Takeshita and my sister had to choose between all those wonderful shoes and I was like ‘meh I want!!!’ Buying shoes there won’t be on option I guess (except for Forever21).
Whatever. I can’t wait to go there and get myself some new, nice and cute stuff!

Also I will buy lots of food. Instant noodles, soft drinks, noodles in general, sweets and of course sauces.

Like when I’m already there why not save money?! (I love shopping at Mikado but 7 € is just too much for sosu…)

And I have to bring stuff for my friends too! (Micha already asked if I could bring her a new hand warmer HAHA)

Fortunately I have very big suitcase and I think there’s also an option to carry 2 bags into the plane?
I don’t know if this works with  all airlines but I did so 3 years ago and last year in Santa Barbara (Lufthansa, my savior). So I hope I can bring one huge bag with all the stuff I can’t fit in my suitcase (and books) and a smaller one where I put all the important things (like passport and money) inside.

If anyone has a recommendation (food/sights/shopping/animals/whatever) for Kyoto and Osaka please comment! I want to collect as much information as possible!

After a full week of sunshine and heat (oh wow!) the weather in Germany is back to being cold, rainy and annoying in general. I just got used to drinking Lattes or milkshakes on my way home from school while enjoying the sun or riding my bike in the mornings and now I can go back to sitting inside and feeling gray? I do NOT like that. Let’s just hope it’ll clear up soon.

Anyways, yesterday I decided it was the perfcet weather to buy a new pair of jeans. I was a bit sick so I didn’t make plans with my friends (just coughed a lot and didn’t feel like meeting someone like that). So instead I dressed up in my usual I-have-to-do-something-unpleasant-outfit (usually black pants, chucks, men’s shirt, beanie, trenchcoat and super-big-umbrella) and tried to do the impossible: get myself a new pair of jeans. Since more than a year now I kind of abandoned pants in general and stuck to skirts and dresses, which is why I haven’t bought a new pair of jeans in a loong time! But two weeks ago my last pair (except for the well-known someday-it-will-fit-pair) broke and thus I had to face it: I need pants. If the weather is like really really bad but too hot to wear boots you need pants. Sigh.

Anyways, the end of the story is that I bought two pairs who fit well (I think) but are like size 33/34 which disappointed me a lot, since the last time I checked my size was 31/32? Idk exaactly but it really pissed me off. Anyways, I was glad to have fulfilled my mission until I came home and tried to find something to wear. Like, there are about 3-4 pieces I could wear and all of those are of no use once the weather gets better! FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

(seriously this is so stupid. Last year I’ve spent all my time hunting for nice skirts and dresses and now I can spend another year to find myself some nice tops, blouses and shirts.)

So I checked all my favorite magazines and tried to get some inspiration. Problem is still the same: Models are skinny and wear skinny jeans, which I don’t. But I still managed to find some ideas to re-do my wardrobe.

Bijin Hyakka

The left one is my favorite. Obvious, right? So pretty! The whole look is relaxed but the T-Strap sandals make it very elegant! I’ll try that soon.  The middle one is simple again, but I like the top and those sandals so I’ll combine it with a blazer I guess. The right one is my favorite for this kind of weather. It looks so cozy and just this week I saw a knit like this at Tally Weijl! Want want want!

CanCam

I was a bit disappointed because CanCam usually features a lot of elegant denim outfits. But oh well, those were my favorites. My favorite is the left one (again), so cute! I like the middle one too, but I honestly don’t know where I could buy such a top in Europe. Mainly here for being pretty (plus, it’s Aiku Maikawa on that picture. LOVE) The right one is also a favorite. Especially with that bike – I can already see myself riding to school like that!

JELLY

Finding outfits I like in JELLY has become really hard lately. I guess my taste is mostly mote-kei now (though sometimes a bit of blogger-style appears too). Anyways, I still managed to find something pretty there! This time the middle one is my favorite. It would look boring without that headband, but I wanted one of these anways!

My favorite is the right one – I just love those oversized blouses combined with tight jeans. The left and middle one are mainly here because I like the outfits but I’ll buy something that isn’t too short… Still, pretty outfits!

Ray

Ray… When it comes to pretty dresses and skirts I don’t know what I would do without this magazine, but on this purpose it was really hard to find some nice denim outfits… But I still found some! Ha! Favorite: The middle one. I need a top EXACTLY like the one pictured.

I just wondered if there is ever going to be someting like a completed closet. Like a woman has all the stuff she needs and only buys stuff that she finds sooo cute or when something breaks. I guess not? Because I have a lot of pretty dresses (and meanwhile even skirts, thank god for Mint&Berry) and I always keep thinking ‘I need something like that, because…’

It’s a neverending story. Just like the bills from Zalando…

For this season, they focused on floral prints (I mean it. You can’t escape this at all) and their signature, vintage-esque and romantic look! The theme is ‘Juicy Trunk‘. Also, for the first time ever, they used a japanese model: Coco Kinoshita! She’s a regular at Bijin Hyakka and also appears in Maquia, Sweet, JJ and many more. She also used to have a column at PINKY Magazine before it went out of print.

That dress is just too cute. I don’t like those shoes, the sweater is soo lovely though!

Such a sophisticated, yet cute look! The bag is a mix between elegant and casual, very interesting.

So cute! The hat makes me think of holidays… Summer, where are you?

So on one stormy evening after work while my parents roamed the beaches of Dubai (and my dad mailed me lots of pictures of beaches, sun, the sea…), I wanted to get myself some spring feeling. Here’s what I bought:

1. Ice Cream T-Shirt in white
2. Print Font T-Shirt in white I know it’s not white but shortly after I bought it the white version was sold out so I took this picture.
3. Pleated Skirt in pearl

It’s pretty basic stuff, but I’m always careful when trying new labels. Also, it was my first order at Zalando! Despite stalking the site for ages, I never really bought anything. Well, until now that is! I already have a list of other Mint&Berry dresses and skirts I crave for and it won’t take long until I’ve spent more money (when I should actually save for a new BlackBerry and a hard drive)

4: Mint&Berry Green Abalone Trenchcoat I love Mint&Berry, I love trenchcoats… Perfect combo. Plus this color is very elegant!
5: Orsay Valentine Special Purse So this was actually for Valentine’s Day and ever since I’ve asked myself: To Buy or Not To Buy? But it’s so cute and bags like this are rare (I think) so I hope it’ll be in store.
6: Even&Odd Cognac Bag I’ve always wanted a bag like this. Exactly like this one. I already have a lot of bags in brown but oh well.
7: Etude House I Need You Yoghurt! Facial Mask Everyone keeps telling me how great Etude House products are and now I’m giving these masks a try. Review? Maybe.
8: Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss Well I didn’t want to spend too much money on their cosmetics, so I’m gonna try this gloss that seems to be super awesome? I don’t know but you’ll hear from me.

Lately, I’ve been up to… many things. Except for going out. I seriously don’t know why but I’ve become such a lazy person! And most of my friends, too.

Ah well. On to my recent activity.

1. Reading.

Of course, for me reading is not a habit I just pick up, it’s something I do every day. Newspapers, random books when I have too much time, my school books when I’m bored at class (yes I actually do that – that’s why I always carry my history book around)… The list goes on and on. But there have been some books that I got hooked up on recently. Do you know that feeling when you are reading a new book and the world around you doesn’t exist anymore – even sleeping seems less interesting – everything that counts is that book?
The Maze Runner Trilogy.

These have been on my Amazon recommendation list for months. I came across some fans on tumblr and thought ‘Why not give it a try?’ and bought the first book on Amazon (they really captured me with their stupid recommendations!).
At first, it was hard to read because not even the main character knew what was going on and the others kept throwing weird words at him. But the story became so exciting and I fell in love with the characters and their ships (yeah that’s the fault of tumblr. NALBY!)… So I finished The Maze Runner in one day and immediately ordered the sequels.
The story really caught me. It’s not the usual post-war story set 200 years in the future where only one person can save everyone, fights against a ruthless system and has to decide between two guys/girls. To me, it’s about friendship, the weakness of our governments and what is left in the end when you had nothing to begin from. Right now I am almost finished with the last book (minus the prequel) but I can’t continue atm  because someone told me my favorite character will die. Every time I turn a page I’m scared it’ll happen… It’s the same when everyone told me Dumbledore, Sirius and Finnick are going to die… I feel so much for these characters and every time one of them dies. Sigh

The Peter Grant Series
I bought The Rivers of London about a month ago and in addition to TMR, Moon over Soho came along too! The smell of new books, mhmmm…
At first it was so hard to read the first book because it was full of these british police terms I didn’t know before (most of them shortcuts for something) but it really did grow on me. The whole ‘Harry Potter as a Police Constable’-setting sounded really ridiculous at first but it did grow on me fast. Especially because of Nightingale. And the second book is even better! I don’t want to spoil anyone so I’ll keep my mouth shut. I can’t wait for Whispers Underground though.

2. Workout…

…on YouTube! I’m totally addicted to blogilates right now! Sometimes the way she talks irritates me but her workouts are awesome! I especially love the VS-workouts – they really do feel good.
It looks so stupid when I’m doing these – I should’ve taken a photo of me doing them (or maybe not). Ever since my physio therapist told me I have to build up muscles on my legs so I won’t damage the joints on my knees, I’ve been working out regularly (mostly). I still see no effect though and my knees keep hurting if I strain them too much. It really is frustrating, but I keep going. I don’t want to carry this stuff around until I’m 60.

3. Driving.

I know this is a pretty random one, but ever since my mum got comfortable with me driving on my own I use every opportunity I have to take her car! Mostly on my own because then I can rock out to music (and my friends always tell me not to curse at people doing stupid things, but I just can’t stop myself!). Of course, I still try to use my bike as often as possible. But if you’ve been to Germany in the past two weeks you’d know that Winter is not planning on going away. Which sucks but we have to adjust ourselves to it. Anyways, I was thinking of getting my own car but decided not to because  a) I’d rather spend the money on clothes and holidays b) I don’t even have said money c) It’s only two years until graduation and then I’ll probably move back to Munich or some other huge city where a car is unnecessary. These might sound stupid to some people, but a car was never something I really wanted. A nice apartment, an expensive and decadent holiday once a few years, clothing, those are the things I’d like to save money for. Most of my friends in this town save for cars or similiar things, but I have my mind somewhere else! Wether this is a good thing or not, I don’t know…

There’s no picture of me driving. Which is good, I guess.

Does anyone else here rock out to music while driving? Or curse at stupid people crossing the street without looking? I can’t be the only one who does that…

So these past few weeks I’ve been busy with school (obviously) because I had to work on my final grades for this semester. Managed not to fail at Chemistry and Maths – WOO! I’m quite surprised but apparently I’m not as bad as I thought I was ‘ I also got an A in Arts and I have NO IDEA why. Really. Maybe I have a hidden talent or something. LOL NO

Apart from that I’ve been busy with preparations for my second internship at a retirement home. Our class went to a nurse college this week. Everything was quite ‘boring’ – I already knew everything we learnt there and after some time all the teachers ignored me because I knew all the correct answers- but still quite some fun. The internship itself starts on Monday and will go for 2 weeks. Then I’m back at school and then for another 3 weeks at the retirement home.

Back to blog business. There were some topics I wanted to write about lately, but somehow I never found the time or marked them as not that important anyway.

Let’s get to the point of this post. Lately, I’ve been following lots of beauty blogs (Memorable Days, Yuklui Style and fellow WP Peach Milky Tea are my favorites) and some online stores which carry asian beauty products. It took me a while to decide which to buy, since it is SO OVERWHELMING. Really. I mostly looked up products on ebay and felt the need to buy lots of stuff. Like, I would think ‘Of course I need a mask for colored hair, I’m gonna dye my hair back to chestnut soon!’ and stuff like that… Haha I’m so easy to manipulate! Well in the end I bought mainly facial stuff. ‘Cause yeah I felt like this would be best? Try some of this, move on to hair products and build up a stock of my favorite products. That’s the plan.

Now I have to say I’m not really a beauty crack – I hardly did masks before (I was lazy like ‘Won’t use anything anway’) but now I’m hooked up! I used to buy Dead Sea Masks, but ever since I read that this is one of the reasons for the Dead Sea to dry I stopped buying them. I also told my mother not to buy Dead Sea bathsalts anymore but she just said ‘Well, it’s dead already!’ Oh mum. Sigh.

Enough talking! The four products I’ve been buying lately and have fallen in love with:

1: Kiwi/Papaya Yoghurt Mask by SKINFOOD – These are my latest buys. I absolutely love them! The smell, the texture, the results on my face – just perfect! I prefer the Kiwi one though, because its smell is better.
2: Black Bean Nose Pore Strips by SKINFOOD – Pore Strips are always a smart investment and these are the best I’ve ever tried! Although I’ve heard some people complain about its smell, I like them a lot! Just try them and if you don’t like it, there are like a million other products.

3: Green Tea/Lemon/Pearl Pure Source Sheet Mask by MISSHA – These sheet masks have been like an epiphany. My face has never been more moisturized and bright. Plus I used them when I had a cold and it made my puffy cheeks vanish (and I felt instantly better. I have no idea why though)! My favorites were the Green Tea masks so far. I didn’t like the Pearl masks that much because it made my skin a bit itchy.

4: Soft Coeur Massage Butter by Lush – I’ve had this one over a year (box full of lush products from my uncle and aunt for my birthday!) but I only got to appreciate it now during winter. Not only is it nice to be massaged with it, but it also did a lot for my skin! It has Cacao butter, Shea Butter, honey, Cacao powder, Lime oil and lots of other great oils in it. That’s why I use it at least twice a week. It makes your skin very soft, moisturized and very healthy.

I bought everything except the Soft Coeur Massage Butter from this shop.

With every purchase there I got a free Algae sheet mask. Weird thing is, it should’ve been two… But oh well, no complaints here.

I just noticed how much I miss writing and blogging! Good thing is I have some ideas in stock. HAHA.

By the way, do you want me to do reviews on Maison Faye? I think it’d be fun to try, but all the products I use have been reviewed like a thousand times (I always check reviews before buying this stuff) so it wouldn’t that interesting I guess? Let me know what you think!

Juge Etta is produced by VENT INTERNATIONAL, a company that also produces Liz Lisa (which is sort of the ‘little sister’-brand of JE, despite being around much longer), Tralala and others.
Concept:

I love engrish…  Summarized it means French Lady – Nostalgic & trendy, yet feminine. Once again, Paris plays a huge part as inspiration.

Theme for this collection is Fancy Flower Sweet Lady in Morocco.

If that dress wasn’t short (and expensive!), I’d straight buy it…

That blouse looks very light and yet it covers the arms – perfect for spring.

I don’t like the flowers on this dress, they add a bit of 70s flair which doesn’t exactly fit the theme.

This Tweed-combo is so nice! The color makes it seem very light and because of the short pants it’s perfect for spring.

Summary:

I liked their spring collection, although the winter collection was loads better. Two things disturbed me: 1. The price. No need to say anything more, right? (Sometimes, it’s just… urgh. I have an expensive taste) 2. The length of the clothes in general. Sometimes I wonder if Juge Etta’s customers aren’t scared at all that someone’s going to see their panties! What if you need to pick up something from a high shelf in the supermarket?
Apart from that, I really liked this theme, especially since sherbet colors are apparently all the rage again! This style is indeed a more mature version of LizLisa and with these clothes you probably don’t even need much effort to look pretty. Simple is best.
